Christiane Haase MeschkatImagination and Design Teacher
“I believe only a happy child can truly learn. Feeling connected with others and ourselves as well as the nature around us and feeling accepted and loved just the way we are is a path leading to this happiness. Art can play an important role to connect to ourselves and others along the way, as art is always communication.”

Interests
I enjoy learning and taking on new challenges, whether it’s trying out new artistic techniques, taking a yoga teacher class or going on trail rides in the Arizona desert. I also love travelling – particularly in Asia – and have enjoyed living in different countries, including Switzerland, Canada, China, Japan and now the US.
What I love about working with Trū students
I enjoy the calm and focused learning atmosphere and value the respect and kindness I am experiencing. As an art teacher I love how arts and crafts are an integral part of the learning on so many levels. I also enjoy the thoughtful and curious conversations with the students and their playful explorations.
What people might find surprising about me
I grew up in Berlin, East Germany, and am glad I had that experience as it led me to value freedom very highly. Being a teenager in Berlin in the early Nineties was a great time and place to experience – think clubbing and listening to a lot of Punk music! Today I have two teenage daughters and a cat, but I occasionally still enjoy a little bit of Punk in my life.
